This morning, some Korean visited my office for a meeting with my boss. Having done with the business matters, a woman came to my desk. As she asked me if I could give her the company’s phone number, she accidentally dropped something, so she said, “Oh, I’m sorry.” And I answered, “Kwenchanayo..” (“It’s alright…”)
If only you could see their expression! They were so surprised and really delighted with such small thing! (I was happy too, being given a chance to speak Korean eventhough just one word 😉 ) And this time I still had enough sense to answer, “Just a liiitle!” when they asked me, “Do you speak Korean?” Maybe because they weren’t Andrea Hirata, to whom I had answered, “Oui!” for his question, “Ah, vous parlez francais?” 😆
So I think it’s nice to learn some important expressions in other languages (even just for fun 😉 ). You never know when you’ll need that. You’ll never know when the chance to make others and yourself happy will come ^^ .
Have a nice week, everyone!
